WCW: Adriana Becerra

Why We’re Crushing on Adriana: I met Adriana during our Pilates teacher training. When we finished the program I had the pleasure of working with her! As a teacher the first thing you’ll notice is Adriana’s warmth and kindness towards her clients. She teaches with her heart. This does not mean she doesn’t kick your butt! It simply means she takes the time to get to know the person in front of her and do what it takes to get them to where they want to be! The other thing I love about Adriana is her eagerness to learn. Adriana is never done learning. She truly loves it and she isn’t afraid to ask questions to become the strongest, most effective teacher possible.  Continue reading “WCW: Adriana Becerra”

Chest Openers You Can Do Anywhere

Goal Post (Foam Roller) Stretch:

This is my favorite chest opener. If you don’t have a foam roller, use a yoga mat or fold a pillow in half and place between shoulders. Make sure you let the weight of your arms reach for the floor.
Another option for my favorite: Lean forward in a doorway. You can do this anywhere! Even right in the middle of your work day, jump up from your desk and find a door way. Lean forward with abs and glutes engaged. Use your weight to open the chest.  Continue reading “Chest Openers You Can Do Anywhere”

Food Review: Jeni’s Ice Cream

For our 100th post, I decided to celebrate with a review of my new favorite ice cream place! I am not a believer in cheat days or cheat meals. I think you can cheat whenever you feel like it if you treat your body with respect and eat a generally healthy and nutritious diet. Everything in moderation, EVEN moderation 😉

After dinner last night, my friend Val started talking about this amazing ice cream place with a dark chocolate peppermint flavor in Los Feliz. We were sold and immediately drove there. This place did not disappoint. We tried: dark chocolate peppermint, churro, honey pistachio, wild berry lavender and darkest chocolate. Each flavor was absolutely amazing and we would have tried them all if there wasn’t a line forming behind us.

3 Ways to Rock a Statement Necklace

This is the first big statement necklace I have tried. I usually wear understated delicate jewelry. I was afraid of the statement necklace because big jewelry tends to look strange on my small frame, and also because I wasn’t sure how it would fall on me because I have a fuller chest. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the way a great statement necklace looks on my friends who rock them, I just wasn’t sure it would work on me. Much to my surprise I am finding that I love wearing it with pretty much anything!

3 Rules That Helped with Styling:

  • If you are bigger-chested, make sure you wear it with a higher neckline
  • Unless you’re going all out, wear it with simple jewelry and less color, so that it pops!
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment! I found that it looked great for many occasions!
  1. Classic LA Look/Out to a Bar or Show

2. Dressed Up/Brunch or a Holiday Party Continue reading “3 Ways to Rock a Statement Necklace”

Recipe: Christmas Cookies Tradition

If you can’t tell Amy and I love to bake!  She shared her famous Ginger Snap recipe last week, and today I’m going to share some recipes my mom and I make every year.  Once every holiday season, we have what we call our Annual Cookie Making Day.  This year we did it a little early, right before Thanksgiving.  We didn’t necessarily create these recipes; we just really enjoy making and eating these cookies.

Here are some fun recipes for you to take to your next holiday party.
