Why we’re crushing on Andrea Flores:

I could tell within moments of meeting Andrea that she is smart, quick, driven and talented. All of these things have held true as I have gotten to know her well. Andrea is the type of person who can achieve anything she puts her mind to and she NEVER gives up. She uses this drive in her business as a Pilates Instructor, in her dance career and in her own training regimen. She balances everything and does it all with passion. I have never seen her just going through the motions. If she is there she is fully committed to being the best she can be which is what makes her so amazing at everything she does! On top of all of this she is drop dead gorgeous and true to herself and her body. She cares about what she puts into her body because she loves and respects it, not because she wants to be a certain size. She has a unique style and flare that make her stand out. 5 stretches you can do everyday! 

Many of my clients say they don’t stretch enough. We have this problem because we find working out more important, we have limited time or we get bored with stretching. But stretching is really important. Try stretching every day for just 5 minutes and see what kind of difference it makes in your body!

1. Spine stretch forward: 

This is a great stretch because it stretched your hamstrings, lower back and works your abs. Start with feet mat width apart, feet flexed, arms straight out in front of you parallel to the floor. Inhale sit as tall as you can. Exhale round forward reaching your lower back, back in opposition, your nose between your knees and your fingertips past your toes. Inhale sit tall. Repeat 5 times.

The Paleo Diet – What’s The Hype?

I will start off by saying I am not paleo. I have had first hand experience with how successful the paleo diet can be because my mom started it a couple years ago and has seen amazing results. Other family members and friends had similar successes while on the paleo diet so I became curious. I decided to write a brief description of the diet so people could understand it and try it if they were interested when my mom got her blood work back recently and her doctor informed her that her glucose levels are the best in her practice because of her diet! What I knew going into my research is this diet gets real tangible results, that doesn’t mean that it is for everyone.

What is the paleo diet? 

The paleolithic diet is based on what our ancestors would have eaten in a time of hunting and gathering before agriculture. The paleo diet is based on the belief that the metabolism has not adapted fast enough to be able to handle foods  that are now available because of agriculture such as legumes, grains, dairy and especially processed foods. The BEST Pumpkin Things of the Fall!

pumkinsIf we are using the release of the Pumpkin Spice Latte as the kick off event, Fall has begun.  Fall is my favorite time of year!  I love how the leaves changing and the weather cooling (come on, LA!).
